The parents of John Throckmorton Esq 1 (1688-1741) = (married to) Mary Sarah Stillwell (1690-1739) (Amelia's 2GG) are:

Job Throckmorton (1650-1709) = Sarah Leonard (1660-1743) (Amelia's 3GG).

Job's parents are:

John Throckmorton (1601-Bef. 1684), = Rebecca Farrand (1610-1684) (Amelia's 4GG). Both were born in England, and this John is a Gateway Ancestor. He is the immigrant to America whose lineage goes back to royals and nobles. He is buried in the Throckmorton-Lippit-Taylor Burial Ground . [Note: His wife Rebecca's surname is not Colville but Farrand. See the discussion here].

This Nielsen Hayden genealogy page has very interesting notes about this John Throckmorton (1601-1684). A brief summary:

John Throckmorton emigrated with his family to Boston in 1631 on the ship Lyon. He soon moved to Salem. In 1636 he was one of Roger Williams' original companions in Rhode Island. He went to New York and in 1642 settled the peninsula now named for him, Throgs Neck. He was residing there with Anne Hutchinson when the Native Americans massacred the Hutchinsons among others. See this RHB post from a few weeks ago. (Anne Hutchinson is my 10th Great Grandmother). Because of the massacre, he returned to Rhode Island. He died Bef. 1684 when visiting his sons in Middletown, New Jersey, and was buried in the Throckmorton-Lippit-Taylor Burial Ground .

This lineage, based on sources that are accepted by many as credible, shows that Edward I, King of England (Reign: 1272-1307), is Amelia Throckmorton's 18th great grandfather. 4
