Notes for Col. Richard Somers
[14]
1“A Colonel in the militia, a Judge of the county court, and his name appears among those of the members from his native county in the Provincial Congress, for the year 1775; though it would seem that he did not take his seat. Col. Somers was an active Whig in the Revolution, and was much employed, in the field and otherwise, more especially during the first years of the great struggle for national independence.”
