Random History Bytes 134: Amelia Throckmorton - Royal Descendant - Part 09
----------

Amelia (Throckmorton) Allen is a New Jersey Gateway Ancestor (descended from royalty or nobility). Strictly speaking, Amelia's "immigrant" Gateway Ancestor is John Throckmorton (1601-1684).

The photograph 1 (click on the photos to see larger versions) on the left below is Amelia Throckmorton's grave in Miller Cemetery, New Gretna, New Jersey. [The FindAGrave photo is more legible (due to sun, shadow, and perhaps stone deterioration)]. The photograph in the center shows Jane (Throckmorton) Allen's grave next to Thomas J. Allen, and the photograph on the right shows Amelia's grave to the left of Jane's grave.

This GPS Map shows the location of Amelia Throckmorton's Grave in Miller Cemetery.

Thomas J. Allen (1834-1915) married three times. 1) Anna Jones (1837-1861) who died young, 2) Amelia Throckmorton (1843-1877), and 3) after she died, he married her sister Jane Throckmorton (1846-1914).

In History of Little Egg Harbor Township 2, Leah Blackman says: "Thomas J. Allen married Anna Jones, and after her death he married Amelia Throckmorton."

A more complete genealogy of Thomas J. Allen is given in "The Short and Tall Allens" 3.

Because this source can be difficult to find, here is the relevant section on Thomas Jefferson Allen, Jr. (p. 11-12):

The genealogy above may be helpful in determining Throckmorton blood descendants.
