Random History Bytes 131: Amelia Throckmorton - Royal Descendant - Part 06
----------

As the search continues for more records supporting the parentage noted here for Craig Throckmorton (1809-1863) in Monmouth County, New Jersey, it has been decided to proceed with what is the most likely next few generations of Craig Throckmorton (1809-1863). As further records are found that support, or not, this lineage, it will be addressed in future posts.

We will accept the tree given at Familysearch.org for the parents of Craig Throckmorton being John Throckmorton (1773-?) m. 04 Nov 1798 in Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey Zephia Jeffrey (1773-?), and the parents of this John Throckmorton being James Throckmorton, Sr (1726-1782) m. 02 Jan 1767 in Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey Rosina Van Note (1746-1782).

The last three links are to WikiTree.com. Unlike Familysearch.org, WikiTree.com requires documentation for persons entered, and there are folk(s) checking up on tree additions. For example, this part of the Throckmorton line did not include the above John Throckmorton, and I added him, giving the source reference 1, and it was accepted by the person(s) overseeing this part of the tree.

The original death record in Little Egg Harbor Township, Burlington County, New Jersey for Craig Throckmorton was obtained this week, naming his parents (see line 12).

Date of Death: Jun 17, 1863 [Note: the transcription of this record here has the month as Jan (wrong)]
Name of Deceased: Craig Throckmorton
Sex of Deceased: Male
Married or Single: Married
Age: 52y
Occupation: Labourer
Place of Death: Down Shoure
Place of Birth: Sweedsboro [sic]
Names of Parents: John & Zilpha Throckmorton
Cause of Death: Consumption

The marriage record gives Zilpha's surname as Green. RHB129 discusses that her maiden name was Jeffery and was first married one John Henry Green.

RHB128 details the "Unconnected Throckmortons" lineage references for Craig Throckmorton.

The next post will examine the available evidence that the father of this John Throckmorton is James Throckmorton (1726-1782) married 02 Jan 1767 Rosina Van Note (1747-1782) in Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co., New Jersey. From James Throckmorton (1726-1782) the ensuing royal and noble WikiTree lineages appear to be rather solid from accepted sources presented in their person links. Amelia Throckmorton's (1843-1877) local ancestry progression to royalty and nobility should then, hopefully, proceed uneventfully in upcoming posts.
