This Washington Family was a black family living in Tuckerton, New Jersey in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is not known whether they they worshipped as Quakers (perhaps not as full members), but if not it seems likely they would have been buried in what is now known as Old Methodist Cemetery, also in Tuckerton.
There are six Washington graves in a line in the North-West remote back corner of the grave yard, and there are four Washington graves in a line tucked away in the North-East remote back corner of the grave yard. Click here to see a map showing the 6 graves and 4 graves average location.
FindAGrave currently shows 9 Washington graves in this Friends Burial Ground. See here.
Because many of the inscriptions are very difficult to read, the photo captions here relied heavily on the FindAGrave photos and captions. Click on any thumbnail for a larger image.
