I received notices that my Toyota Corolla was being recalled for an URGENT SAFETY RECALL (passenger air bag replacement).
May 2016 The week before Memorial Day (I didn't know I needed to keep careful notes at that time) I called Shore Toyota in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. I pressed the number for service. I got a woman who took all of my information, including VIN, as I recall, and then was told I was being rerouted to a service writer, but that I might get voice mail. I did get voice mail. I pretty much repeated myself in a message, and left my phone number for a call back. I never got a call back.
6/6/2016 I called Toyota 1-888-270-9371. This time I was given a case no. of 1606063823. No other progress to report. I keep asking when are they going to schedule the service and when are they going to call me back, indicating that I get no calls back from Shore Toyota. No answers. No call back.
6/14/2016 another message on home phone just alerting about recall from 888-312-5994 to schedule repair.
6/21/2016 I called the above number. Got Alexandria. Still no tangible progress.
7/5/2016. 3:49 PM. Another Toyota Marketing Call message on home phone just alerting about the recall. I called 1-888-270-9371 and gave case no. once again. I asked them to get back to me about scheduling. We shall see.
No call back, no progress to the current date. Further notes will appear here as they occur, but this record of poor Toyota service will remain forever thanks to the Internet.
